Ramsudha Narala, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgery, ocular oncology and uveitis specialist. She completed her undergraduate education at Saint Louis University. She earned a scholarship to continue her education at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine where she was nominated to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for distinction in her class. Dr. Narala then completed her ophthalmology residency at Kresge Eye Institute-Wayne State University in Detroit, MI where she earned the Best Resident Teacher Award and Award for Patient Excellence. She then completed a 2-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California Roski Eye Institute in Los Angeles, CA where she was chief vitreoretinal surgery fellow. Following completion of her vitreoretinal surgery fellowship, she successfully completed a fellowship in Ocular Oncology with focus on cancers involving the eye at the Stanford University Byers Eye Institute.
As a retinal surgeon, her specific interests include macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachment repair, macular hole surgery, and epiretinal membrane surgery. As an ocular oncology specialist, she manages various conditions including uveal melanoma, choroidal hemangioma, metastatic cancer to the eye, iris tumors, conjunctival intraepithelial neoplasia, and conjunctival melanoma.
Dr. Narala is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She has published many peer-reviewed articles, authored many book chapters, and has presented at several national conferences.
