Dr. Pratima Gautam

Dr. Pratima Gautam is a New Jersey native from Cliffside Park, NJ. Dr. Gautam attended Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY, where she developed a strong passion for Optometry, became President of the Pre-Optometry Society and was actively involved in raising money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science with a concentration in Healthcare Management, Dr. Gautam worked as an optometric technician at a busy private practice in NJ for one year, where she excelled at numerous technical skills to aid in the proper diagnosis and management of a multitude of ocular diseases.

Dr. Gautam received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, where she received clinical honors and Dean’s List. She also served as President of the National Optometric Student Association and as a clinical tutor to her fellow peers.

After receiving her Doctorate, Dr. Gautam completed an Ocular Disease and Primary Eye Care Residency at the VA Boston Healthcare System in Brockton, MA, where she cared for veterans with ocular conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and many more. During her one year residency, Dr. Gautam also expanded her clinical knowledge by working at Lenscrafters all over the greater Boston area on the weekends.

Dr. Gautam is a member of reputable optometric organizations such as the American Optometric Association (AAO) and the California Optometric Association (COA). Dr. Gautam is currently working towards her fellowship (FAAO) and has presented her research at national optometric conferences. Dr. Gautam is certified to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and to treat primary open angle glaucoma.

Dr. Gautam is passionate about providing thorough and compassionate care to all her patients, treating them as her own friends and family. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, traveling, writing, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
