Experienced, board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. He is one of few refractive surgeons who also specializes in surgery of the cornea - the part of the eye that is treated by LASIK and most other types of refractive surgery. Because of his training, experience and outstanding results, Dr. Fuerst receives many referrals from other eye specialists for both routine and complex eye surgery, as well as many referrals from satisfied patients.
He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago and his Cornea I External Disease fellowship at the Proctor Foundation of the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. He is recognized as a mentor and educator, having served as residency program director at White Memorial Medical Center and on the teaching staff of the University of Southern California.
