Dr. Wang studied medicine at the prestigious McGill University, Montreal, Canada. She completed five years of training in ophthalmology and three years of training in surgical glaucoma at University of Montreal and at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, United Kingdom. She completed her training in 2016 and has been working as glaucoma specialist and clinical professor at Laval University since the beginning of her practice. She has clinical expertise on surgical management of both adult and pediatric glaucoma, glaucoma related to ocular inflammation and glaucoma secondary to retina and corneal surgery. Dr. Wang performs over hundreds of glaucoma filtering surgery per year including many complex glaucoma filtering surgery (aqueous shunt repositioning and repair, post keratoplasty, post buckle and retinal detachment surgery, hypotony repair etc.) Dr. Wang is also an expert in medical management of glaucoma including various laser treatment to lower intra-ocular pressure.
Dr. Wang is actively involved in post graduate teaching of glaucoma surgery. She was chair of Canadian Glaucoma Society Annual Planning Committee and chair of Canadian Ophthalmological Society Annual Meeting Planning Committee (Glaucoma section). She is also instructor for glaucoma drainage device and MIGS surgery at American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual meeting. She is an active member of Canadian Glaucoma Society, Canadian Ophthalmological Society and American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr Wang is both board certified in United States (American Board of Ophthalmology; ranked 98 percentile) and in Canada (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons).
